This course is designed to help dietitians who work with kidney disease patients who are on dialysis, pre- or post- kidney transplant. We will discuss kidney replacement therapies including all types of dialysis (in-center and home hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and transplant). And how kidney replacement therapy impacts nutritional needs. Because renal nutrition is very complicated, you will learn how important the role of a dietitian who is a part of an interdisciplinary team is to improve patient outcomes, reduce hospitalization and improve quality of life.
